Michael Jackson Comic

Posted by bradwick on July 14, 2009

I know just about everyone and their mother has done some kind of tribute to Michael Jackson at this point. But Wide Awake Press decided

to put together a little book of sketches and comics from some cool cartoonists Like Josh Latta, Sarah Louise Wahrhaftig, Jim Mahfood, Rob Ullman and J Chris Campbell. It’s called Off The Wall and I know it will be at San Diego comic con next week, and I assume it will be up for sale at wide awake press some time after that. Here is my mind-blowing/life changing comic in it’s entirety:

SHOP!!

Posted by bradwick on November 4, 2008

Hey Everybody!

Guess what?! I’m Broke! So in order to save me from starvation, I urge you to visit my newly opened shop! (Just Click the tab “shop” at the top of this page!)

I’ve been working on this thing for a little while now, and I still need to add a few things. But it should be running smoothly. You can use all manners of payment thanks to all that pay pal crap. I know I’ll be adding little buttons and some more comics that are not up there yet later this week. I might also throw some paintings up there, and see what happens. Who knows! All I know is that you should buy stuff from me, and not some other “sketchy” dude.

Oh! And just to pad this post out a bit more, (and to also up my cute animal to busty girl ratio) I’m posting some designs for what will proablbly be my next cartoon. All I can say is that it involves bears. So with out further ado…. BEARS!

This was the first page where i was just messing around with shapes and and styles a bit. Nothing too exciting. While I do like the bottom left one and top right one quite a bit, They probably wouldn’t be too much fun to animate.

More of the same “playing around”. This time I think I got 3 pretty decent designs.

bear-5.jpg

Alright. Here we are 3 bears and a kid dancing around. Mission accomplished! Well not really, I still need to work on them a quite a bit, But the basic stuff is all there.

Here is a slightly tighter version of the bunch. The only one I’m not totally sold on is the big one with pants. I dunno. I’m just not that into him. We’ll see what happens from here.

HYPE: Bird Doggin!

Posted by bradwick on June 27, 2008

What’s up guys and girlies? I thought I’d go ahead and throw some images up from my newest book Bird Doggin’ It’s a collection of drawings of girls. Some are nude, some are fully clothed. The book is kind of all over the place as far as styles go. Some are realistic drawings done from old playboys, some are figure drawings done from models, and some are just made up. Its 24 pages of black and white drawings with a 8 page color section in the middle. So if you like naked ladies you might want to check it out!

Here are a few of the highlights:

Oh and here is the cover in case you didn’t see it in the post below.

If anyone is interested in buying one I’m selling ‘em for 4 bucks plus shipping. You can drop me a line at: bradmcginty(at)gmail.com and I’ll tell you how to pay me. I know that must seem like a hassle, but pay pal buttons don’t work in my wordpress powered blog unless you have a plug in (which I do not). But if you order one from me I’ll be sure to throw in a free sketch just to show my gratitude!

I’ll promise to find a more permanent solution to this soon enough kids, as I plan on (finally) putting all the books I have in print up on the site for purchase.

Thanks for stoppin’ by!

Batman Year 100

Posted by bradwick on April 26, 2008

So I’ve been nosing around Flickr a bit lately, due to some pretty choice cartoonists posting their stuff there ( Dustin Harbin for example ) and I stumbled across Paul Pope’s page, and man was I impressed. I’ve kept tabs on his blog for a while now, but his flickr page has even more impressive work than his blog! Check it out!

Boy howdy do I dig people who can draw neat! Wait wasn’t there a point to this post? Oh yeah..

I went out and bought his Batman year 100 the next day, and really enjoyed it. It was the kinda book that makes me sit down and draw pages and pages of embarrassing superheroes in my sketchbook. Which actually doesn’t happen that often, I think the last time that happened was when I got my copy of Rob Venditti’s book the surrogates which prompted me to draw pages and pages of his character Steeplejack.

Paul Pope came up with a really nice design for his Batman, which included A cool split cape, swim trunks, big ass kicking boots, and finally some crazy ass fake teeth.

So yeah, I drew this picture of Batman and used it to practice coloring on my new Wacom (don’t like it yet). The picture turned out fine is guess; I really didn’t spend a lot of time on the coloring or anything. I kinda wished that I didn’t add the fake teeth when I was inking it (they just look sorta jacked up) and I think that orange building I scribbled into the background is caving in like a year old pumpkin, but whatever. Batman just looks cool as shit when he’s beating up a bunch of dudes, regardless of who’s drawing him.
