Here are some of my background comps for the Tub Flub cartoon. I Just sort of noticed how similar the composition is in all of these. I’m such a one trick pony it’s insane. Sometimes my co workers to rub peanutbutter on my gums to make it seem like I’m working. They swear it looks convincing. Now only if I could get them to quit riding me to the snack machine! LOL!

Just kidding folks, we don’t have a snack machine at my office.

Look at these backgrounds! Wow. I mean really look at them… see? see all those gradients? I’m not a big fan of those.

‘Sup my blogulant brothers? I’ve been trying to update my blog at least 3 times a week, but it’s just not happening. A lot of that has to do with the fact that we’re waist deep in the the new cartoon here at work, another good excuse is that my digital camera sucks. I really need to get a decent one so I can post non-vector crap up here. I swear I’ve been drawing my ass off lately folks, but you wouldn’t know that by looking at my blog would you? nope you sure wouldn’t. Speaking of crap, and vectors, here is is little of both! This is actually one long drawing that was done for a scene in the new “toon” I won’t say anything more about it, because I don’t want to ruin the joke.

Actually, I don’t think this is crap. I think you’re crap.
Thanks for reading!

…well not really, but it sounded good! I’ve been storyboarding a couple of different things in the past week, and I thought I would post some of the better pages.
This is for the first Dr. Internet cartoon entitled; “You got Servered” I should also note that this is the first time I’ve ever done my “boards” (as they say) in illustrator. I thought that it might speed the process up a bit by making it easier to keep all the characters heights correct and junk like that, but I think it ended up taking quite a bit longer due to all the breaking down and re grouping of characters and then also dealing with the all the colors. They came out okay. I don’t think they have as much energy as the Tub Flub story boards I did in pencil (which I will be posting tomorrow!)
Thanks for checking it out!

Here is yet another piece of art I did for the upcoming students of the unusual book. This time it was an ad promoting the free CD in the next issue that contains the winners of the songwriting contest in the previous issue. I think it turned out well.

ey Here is a page from my upcoming story in the Students of the Unusual comic! This is my first vector comic, so It took me a little while to get the hang of organizing layers, composing panels, and all that junk. I’m pretty comfortable with it now, and I was pretty pleased with the way this page came out in particular…

Hey Everyone! I know I haven’t posted in a while, but I’ve been super busy with a few different things, but one of the projects that I’ve been enjoying quite a bit is
illustrating the new recalcitrant Jones and the dead beats story for 3 boys productions. The story revolves (loosely) around a boy and his ultimate band of famous dead rock stars. Here are the designs for the band that I did yesterday. I like the Keith Moon design best.

Hey Gang! I found out the other day that I will be taking over Illustration duties on Recalcitrant Jones and the Dead Beats! for those of you who don’t know Recalcitrant Jones is an ongoing story in the comic book Students of the unusual Which is published by the fine folks at 3 boys productions. Special thanks to J Chris for sending them my way, and extra special thanks to Terry Cronin for saying yes! Here are some rough character designs for the main character Trent. It should be noted that I’m taking a lot from J Chris’s design.

Here is yet another vector drawing I’ve done for practice. I’ll start posting some non vector stuff tomorrow, It’s just that all the vector stuff is already on my computer and all ready to go. What’s that? you don’t care? and you think I’m a jerk? Well fine! I guess I won’t be telling you about the new stuff in the store section then.
