Surrogates

Posted by bradwick on November 13, 2009

Last night I ran into Robert Vendetti at the release party for Van Jensen’s new book, Pinocchio: Vampire Slayer. Rob mentioned that nobody in the comic world had noticed his cameo in the recent Surrogates film, which is, of course, based on his comic series. We were shocked! None of us had noticed it! I thought for a second that Rob might have been joking about his cameo, but this is “Hollywood Rob” we’re talking about! I leaped over the hot wings buffet and dashed to the door. I HAD TO SEE THIS FOR MYSELF! After 17 full viewings of the film I finally located his moment of stardom. Turns out it was in the trailer the entire time! Go figure. Prepare to be starstruck beyond belief internet peoples!

Did you catch it? Crazy huh? Not even Stan Lee gets cameos like that!

Nice work rob!

Food for thought: do you think he met Bruce Willis????!!!!!!!  (I do!!!1)

Modern Cartoons I Love Part 4: Batman the animated Series

Posted by bradwick on November 13, 2009

I like Batman. He looks cool. He can be a fun kid-friendly thing, like the super cool Brave and the Bold series. Or he can be a pretty decent serious character, like in that R rated Dark Knight movie, that still has merchandise stocked at Toys R Us for some reason.

The Batman is not too hot, but the Mr Freeze is decent. I didn’t have a lot of time to knock this out, and I actually would not have posted if it weren’t for good ol’ pal Shannon Smith’s nice email. Speaking of Shannon, you should go buy his bible comic. Everyone thinks it’s better than R Crumb’s!
